About ZoBio


ZoBio was founded in 2004 as a spin-off of Leiden University, The Netherlands. ZoBio is self funded and offers primarily research services on a fee-for-service base to customers across the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Customers include 7 of the top 15 largest pharma and various mid-size pharmaceutical companies. The main activities center around the development and commercialization of biophysical technologies that enable new approaches to drug development.

 

ZoBio’s management and founding team

Gregg Siegal, Ph.D., Chief Scientific Officer Gregg is the original developer of the TINS technology. He also heads a laboratory at Leiden University that focuses on the development of new methods for drug discovery.

 

Rob Heetebrij, Ph.D., Chief Operations Officer Rob has a scientific background in bio-inorganic chemistry and brings more than 15 years research and managerial experience in the biotech industry.

abbott_logo Abbott, the originator of Fragment-Based Drug Discovery, has chosen ZoBio to provide hit discovery and characterization services for Abbott designated targets.

Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Research & Development, a division of Janssen Pharmaceutica NV, has selected ZoBio to provide on going fragment discovery services for targets in a variety of disease areas. The collaboration has been extended to include NMR-based structural studies on target-fragment complexes.
